Machining
Hazardous Waste Management for Machining Operations
Simply Waste Consultants provides practical waste solutions for CNC shops, toolmakers, and precision engineering facilities across England, Scotland, and Wales. Cutting fluids, contaminated swarf, and metalworking oils all require compliant disposal—we deliver cost-effective service that integrates with lean manufacturing operations.
Machining Waste Streams We Handle
Machining operations produce consistent waste streams requiring regular, reliable collection. Our service covers:
Cutting fluids and coolants
Neat cutting oils and emulsions
Solvent-based degreasers
Parts washing solutions
Chemically contaminated swarf
Used filters and absorbents
Equipment maintenance waste
Classification and Compliance Support
Machining waste classification depends on fluid types and metal contamination levels. Our experienced team list and classify each waste stream accurately—particularly important for contaminated swarf where classification affects disposal costs significantly.
We handle all compliance requirements including:
Hazardous Waste Consignment Notes
EWC and HP code assignment for contaminated metals
ISO 14001 documentation support
Waste Carrier documentation
Duty of Care records
Collection and Transport
We coordinate collection services through our network of licensed, ADR-compliant hauliers, including provision of appropriate containers designed for workshop environments. Regular scheduled uplifts prevent storage issues across England, Scotland, and Wales.
Our collection capability ranges from single drum uplifts to full articulated loads. We handle small-scale collections of individual 205-litre drums, intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), and palletised waste. For larger volumes, we arrange multi-pallet collections up to 24 pallets per load, plus bulk tanker services for waste cutting fluids, oils, and parts washing solutions. We supply dedicated waste containers suitable for workshop environments including lockable drum stores, IBC frames, and swarf bins. Regular weekly, fortnightly, or monthly collections can be established based on your waste generation rates, with flexible scheduling to accommodate production shutdowns and maintenance periods.
