Hazardous Waste Management for Energy and Utilities
Simply Waste Consultants supports power generation, water treatment, and utilities infrastructure operators across England, Scotland, and Wales. From transformer oils to treatment plant sludges, we provide compliant disposal solutions that align with operational permits and maintenance schedules.
Energy & Utilities Waste Streams We Handle
Utilities operations produce specialist waste streams requiring expert handling. Our service covers:
Transformer and insulating oils
Water and effluent treatment chemicals
Boiler and heating system chemicals
Glycols and heat transfer fluids
Treatment plant sludges
Legacy oils and contaminated materials
Infrastructure maintenance waste
Classification and Compliance Support
Utilities waste often involves legacy materials with limited composition data, plus modern chemicals under strict permit controls. Our experienced team list and classify each waste stream accurately, ensuring compliance with site-specific environmental permits and waste regulations.
We manage all regulatory documentation including:
Environmental permit waste reporting
Hazardous Waste Consignment Notes
EWC and HP code assignment
Notifications to Environment Agency, SEPA, and NRW
Duty of Care records
Collection and Transport
We coordinate collection services through our network of licensed, specialist hauliers accommodating planned maintenance shutdowns and emergency response requirements. Services include vacuum tankers and bulk liquid transport operating nationwide across England, Scotland, and Wales.
Our collection capability ranges from single drum uplifts to full articulated loads. We handle small-scale collections of individual 205-litre drums, intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), and palletised waste. For larger volumes, we arrange multi-pallet collections up to 24 pallets per load, plus bulk tanker services including vacuum tankers for transformer oils, treatment plant sludges, and contaminated waters. Our specialist haulier network can accommodate planned infrastructure shutdowns requiring large-scale waste removal, plus emergency response for equipment failures and unplanned maintenance requiring rapid collection deployment.
